Cooling Repair in Melbourne
Your air conditioner is a complex piece of machinery. When something goes wrong, it can throw the whole system off. Whether you have a traditional AC that works with your ductwork, or a ductless mini-split system, our expert technicians can fix it for you.
There are many benefits to having your AC repaired properly:
- Increased efficiency
- Prolonged life of unit
- Better indoor air quality
- Enhanced personal comfort
A mini-split AC is like a heat pump without the ducts. It is a good way to provide different rooms with different temperatures. Since it doesn’t use ducts, you don’t have to worry about them getting clogged. These systems do, however, develop other similar issues to ducted ACs.
All air conditioners can get leaks. Sometimes it is a leak in the refrigerant line, while other times it is a water leak. If the refrigerant is leaking, your unit may make a hissing sound and not provide as much cool air. This causes your AC to work harder, which costs you more money and could damage the compressor if not fixed.
Mini-split ACs can also develop drainage issues that will cause water to leak into and through the system. This can cause severe water damage and may even cause your AC to shut down. If you see water leaking or collecting around your indoor unit, it is time to have one of our experts come unclog the condensate drainage system.
Regular AC units can also leak water outside. This is sometimes normal if it is humid or the outdoor temperature is under 60 degrees Fahrenheit. However, leaks can also happen because of a dirty air filter, a blocked drain pipe, low coolant, or a broken condensate pan.
Dirty air filters are common for both types of ACs and can cause lots of problems if not cleaned or replaced. If you notice warmer air or low airflow coming from your AC, a dirty air filter could be the culprit.
An AC might emit various noises that indicate different problems. If you hear a clicking sound, it could mean a relay issue. A screeching sound means a problem with the compressor or fan motor. A problem with the blower or motor assembly can make a thumping, rattling, or banging noise. And if there are faulty electrical components, you could hear a buzzing.
